| Emergency Services, Kreisman Center Crisis Stabilization
Unit The Kreisman Center Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) is the Florida Mental Health Act receiving facility for Sarasota and DeSoto counties and provides brief, intensive mental health treatment services for adults and children who are experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis and would otherwise require hospitalization. Adults admitted to the CSU are experiencing an acute psychiatric emergency, and meet the criteria established under the Florida Mental Health Act. Our 20-bed Adult Unit offers comprehensive services such as group therapy and education groups for medication as well as HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, life skills, and anger management with aftercare referrals. The goal is to stabilize the individual so that he or she can return to the community and continue treatment on an outpatient basis. Services are available seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Coastal Behavioral Healthcare, Inc. has received the prestigious Negley Chairman's Award, a national award based on Excellence in Risk Management.The award was the culmination of a study conducted at Coastal's Kreisman Center Crisis Stabilization Unit entitled Medication Variations Performance Improvement Project 2002-2003. who will make you feel comfortable. Next, you'll meet with an experienced
counselor, who will help you with you problem. Before you leave,
a care manager will assist you in getting any additional services
that you might need to continue your journey toward healing and
